From Romford Now & Then Website – On 15 November 1944 we were hit by a V2 rocket out of the Hague. It landed in Mrs Peirce’s yard on Ainsley Ave. Our front door was up stairs, the roof was gone, all windows for blocks around were missing, the chimney was in the back yard.
